--> Damn.
I'm so close to finishing my second album. I burnt a copy of a close to finished 12 track album, and realize I have a few minor things to fix, and 2 tracks which I need to redo completely. Up to this point I made very good progress, but as always, it's the last tiny bit where the inspiration vanishes.
I tried 2 completely new versions of one of the remaining tracks, and they're crap, and now I have no interest in continuing.

Does this happen to everyone, in the final stages? Any tips to pull me through?

dude, you just finished an album like a year ago! (and what an excellent album is WAS)
It's taken me far far longer to come close to finishing my second album.
But, quality over quantity, right?

Don't stress man. It'll come.

send me a preview copy!

You'll all be getting a free preview copy, promise. Give me another month or 2.

It was actually like 2 years ago when I was at this stage of my last album. Then I had a hard drive failure. Crap, must.. buy... backup... drive.

A MONTHQ? i could be dead by then.
or worse!

i can see my jack ass friends right now going, why do you have a manequin in the house

dont worry about it, drink your wine, we are leaving, lol

You're right, get a blow up doll. Then they'll have less to wonder about.

bite your tongue! and what could be worse anyways? you're already married and according to you....

here are mytips

1. smoke a lot
2. drink a lot of coffee
3. don't start working on music until spending 4 hours on the computer distracted
4. start at like 5am once ready to fall asleep
5. get distracted by im's
6. drink more coffee
7. smoke some more
8. make a beat loop
9. pass out and see what happens the next morning

ha, that sounds like me... except the 5 am thing. I can't work late at night.

i love the late hours. i feel like i can finally concentrate. until i go to em411 and post in peoples blogs. just make your record damnit! ;)

Yeah, just imagine how productive we could all be if we got rid of this damn website.

What claudia said about another person in the room listening - spot on.
Or you could always get those two tracks you aren't happy with and get them remixed by someone else. Just hand them over with your limitations and deal with what comes back. Sounds like you'll get plenty offers from the peeps here...
