--> Take a look at my new studio! Hahaha...

So yesterday I went to the Brooklyn studio ready to tell the landlord that I would be moving out at the end of June. He was late. As I waited I could hear them drilling stuff into the other side of my wall... you see they are making a restaurant on my floor. I always knew this would happen at some point (the restuarant construction) but the landlord assured me that it would barely be heard, and would easily be shut out of the isolation room.

No way in hell it wouldn't make it in there, if even low speech leaks through. No way in hell I'm able to concentrate with machine noises reverberating all around me, because there is an enormous crack under the door to the studio where I hear the reverberation of said machine noise through the hallway...

Anyway, I have a big recording opportunity right now so had to move some equipment to this place to do recordings. It's stressful though, because it's a real strain on the living environment.

ugh... ugh... UGH!!!!

I guess I just wanted to vent and show this hopefully somewhat amusing photograph of my new studio... quite a chance from Woodstock!

[edit: I have added a picture of myself to indicate how low and oddly constructed the ceiling is here.]

Being in the middle of nowhere that is really the middle of nowhere is fine. What I don't like is being in the middle of nowhere that is supposed to be somewhere; places like most American suburbs.

it's not one of those, is it? I totally agree with you, soundhack. Those places suck.

nice sex toys on the bed atleast

oh, yeah, baby... slap me with your vibratone!

lol@ that photo, dickensian ghetto gloom*10 . on the other hand, im happy to hear that its not as bad as it looks. good luck with the recording.

no, augusta is somewhere that is nowhere that is spposed to be somewhere, norway really is nowhere. it's pretty much a road, a lake, and some houses. oh and a new balance shoe factory. most places in maine are like that. i found an interesting statistic: if you spread out every person in maine evenly across the state, they'd each have 41.5 square miles to temselves. LOL good times.

i like augusta tho

Yeah, studio's and drilling don't go well together. Yet, Landlords and the word late go well with each other...go figure that.

LOL, best of times buddy.

i grew up in the middle of nowhere. seven houses and a pub. no trains, buses, shops or streetlights. it was fun. there's a lot to be said for nowhere.

i think that wallpaper needs a preservation order. seriously. it looks like it might be some original rare paisley. scan it, print it and put it on t-shirts. i'm a big fan of low wood ceilings too. my head owes its distinct shape to the years of scar tissue i've accumulated from whacking it against them.

and when it all explodes out of you fredo, make sure you have a spatula handy

LOL cbit

fredo, congrats for getting moving on the situation. it's a tough one, and at least you know you aren't stuck!

good to hear, you mae it out of that studio. and even better to hear it's not that creepy as it does look like on the pictures-.
hope you find some permanent great working studio solution soon.

can i blog hijack for just a sec? lightning mp3 won't let me upload mp3's, errors. sighs... errors... does anybody know where else i can link to a release directly?

Yeah, I'm seeing five places in and around New Paltz and Rhinebeck tomorrow... I'm definitely on it.

Hahha, yes, the place does at first seem a little creepy. But it really has such a warm quality. There are decorations from the past owner of plaster jesus sculptures and such... all there for serious, not camp. It's very interesting.
