--> I went on safari on VIRB.
Found a coupla you chaps on there.

Really enjoying the customizable friendly/ergonomic interface much more than the ol ugly-ass advertisment-ridden myspace.

Most importantly--The download feature.

This (I feel) is the most important feature of a music profile on a social network...
the immediate publish/download feature.

For immediate consumption by the public.

(not unlike this site)

on another note:

I think i'm beginning to have a problem with said social networks.
Spending too much time on the net lately.

Need help soon.

Think i'll fill up the kiddie pool and drink a sixer for memorial day weekend-have a good ol analog time in the yurt.

peaces.

Virb is really nice... haven't spent as much time customizing my profiles yet, but once they iron out the bugs and get a larger userbase this could be really good - either way, it's already great as digital portfolio.

yup. i too like the virb much better than TurdSpace.
it's way less ugly and the music player sounds much better (to me).

I think we are already friends, but hey: link and link

/stevechatterton

i like virb, but there doesn't seem to be much happening there - or maybe i'm doing it wrong (most likely)

11t1:

i know what you mean about not much happening there..

i've been looking at it as sort of a myspace on exile.

it's quality-not quantity.

not much activity=less ads, less bots, more integrity (at least optimistically speaking)

myspace has become the community corkboard to put flyers on and schedule shows (etc.)

whereas virb has become to me the little bin that i put all my live shows/minor releases on for people that are interested to peruse and
download at their leisure...

i'll be looking for everyone else--thanks for looking and hooking up..big shouts to everamzah
for hipping meh up to last.fm...haven't had time to fool with it...but if it is what i think it is it'll be very fun!

cheers all..

enjoy the weekend!

and download meh dub set if you haven't given it a spin mang!

peas.

I think the design is pretty alright. Slightly better than MySpace.
Facebook is much better, and they just added a feature that allows you to add music to your page.
but there doesn't seem to be much happening there

That's because nobody uses it.
The bulk of the internet is either still using MySpace, or using Facebook.

i like VIRB too.
i opened an account and added some unfinished crappy techno stuff on it

Same here, like virb. Hey, any free advertisings cool. link

but I noticed that I get way more listens on myspace perday then virb. I have about two listens on virb a day on average
almost and about 30 on myspace. Hope it pcks up as i add friends.

ok I'll try

what's the verdict? worth it or not?

the layout features and customizability of virb is very cool, i dig it.

i'm not a huge social site peruser but it's great as another node of internet personality

lack of obvious ads is a plus, but it makes me wonder how they're making money.

Virbs's cool but I have more friends on myspace, I've tried getting people to move over but I think people are happy with one site. Someone needs to make a flash app that proxies between the two sites, better yet a super social networking site that links all the social networks together.
Virb This!
