the last cutting edge music I heard was Oval. I thought after that everyone would stop thinking they're pushing the envelope and just make music. Hence why I got into Darla records/etc around 2000.

I wish I could get into minimal again.

But to me, it became lego techno.

I liked my minimal techno to be techno ... and my minimal house to be house.

The blending of the 2 is very ..... listenable .. and boring.

Yet for the crossover stuff we are left with .... I liked Christian Morgenstern a lot... after he died I stopped caring.

well, i disagree. there's allot of fresh minimal techno sounds, but it takes some searching to find those unique voices.

i think your generalizations just comes back down to personal taste and what you enjoy listening to.

oh and my response is addressed for logo

Honestly, I would like to be schooled/edumacated.

Who do you think are the fresh new minimal artists?

on my blog you can check out my top 10 of 2006 if you want to see my personal favourites and it's not all minimal techno.
I like George Jones.

I'd love to hear what is the new minimal stuff... I just tend to be turned off because it's usually so clean and sounds like a mannequin with no cock.

Some of my old favs.

Will have to check your blog, basic...thanks!

"a mannequin with no cock" = my sentiment exactly. lol...

I know it's my preference, but I like what I like.

"it seems to aim at making experimental sound more palatable and "pretty"

yeah ,, this is my problem too. It was like once it hit 1999-2000. Techno stopped sounding vicious and evil.. which I like. Lost all it's edge. And I just got left-over vaccum shranz techno for the hard stuff... boooo..
