so, in conclusion,
1. the american economy sucks.
2. ebayers frequently overpay just to win an auction.

$3000+ and three days left to go!!! link
I am seriously freakin over these prices. I bought my 303 (w/ original box, case, in perfect condition) for $600 in '95. I thought that I was paying way too much then. I could totally use the money but I love my 303. I mean I just couldn't put a price tag on it.
Then again, I REALLY want a Cwejman S1. I just can't believe that I could trade my 303 for nearly any of my dream synths.

...it's tearin me up. at those prices, i would be stupid to hold onto my 303. it'll probably take me the rest of the year to save up for the S1.

the rest of the year is less than 6 months. save your pennies. keep the 303. think of how much fun it will be to run the 303 thru all the gobbly gook in the S1!!!!

i predict: in 2017, i trade in my 303 for a brand new ford taurus ...that flies .......and includes a tiny built in seahorse tank in the dashboard.

Horizon
It is all quite crazy is it not? I wanted a Tb303 ever since i played with rebirth all those years ago. The more i learned about music production the more i realized that a 303 would not be easy to fit into a modern production process without purchasing additional equipment. Also who would want to pay the huge sum of money for an item that is only getting older and more prone to break down. Thats why i decided to go with an alternative. In my case a Syntecno TeeBee.
It is still on the way so i cannot comment as to whether it is the bees knees but i suspect i will be satisfied given that i have only ever used emulators such as rebirth and that the only real tb303 lines i have heard are on the acid records i own.
Anyway that is my advice to everyone out there: get one of the alternatives: teebee, X0XB0X, deep bass nine, freebass, revolution . . . if you really have to have a physical analog thing. After all if you cannot make good sounding music with one of those do you really deserve something that people are now paying $2500 + for on ebay?
Another note: is it possible that a group of people are manipulating the market for tb303? this jump, which was nearly %100 percent over night, is fairly suspect. I really wonder if they will soon be heading for a price crash. Might be good to sell and then buy back 6 months from now if you really feel the need to have one.
