Electronic Music other: Salt Water into Energy
Store Written July 02 2007 , Tags: salt water, Energy, Florida, John Kanzius
I heard about this before I saw it just now. Some guy mentioned it to me and a friend earlier today, and he was going on how he was a communist and that this sort of technology belongs to the people. I just said, yeah, yeah, totally and walked off. I thought he was out of it or something. Then I searched for the video he mentioned. Holy moly.

After seeing this I immediately thought, isn't there a movie that starts like this? Then this guy becomes a target for terrorists hired by the oil companies and is hunted down with only Jean Claude VanDamme at his side.

Just watch the video. And pray that this guy doesn't die.

this seems like utter quackery.

HOW MUCH ENERGY DOES THAT MACHINE USE???

thats the question.
broadcast executive eh?

yeah, i mean, those ultra-powerful radio waves dont emit themselves, do they?

Reason #48 never to swim in the ocean.
isnt that just like electrolysis?
but using radio waves to knock an electron from the atoms instead of electricity?
the input energy has got to be way higher than the output with all those massive machines igniting a tiny bit of salt water. . unless the salt water burning at 3000degrees provides enough energy to setup a chain reaction and burn more salt water.. so it would be some kind of ignitor or something haha ...

interesting stuff though

link is a much better idea... that and the polywell fusor -> link

absolutely agree on the heat to energy thing.. doesn't sound promising.

plus we need them water molecules!!!
Doesn't anyone think he's actually giving himself more tumours?
oh and i think the movie is a keanu reaves one with morgan freeman.
There are similar videos of people who claim they can get motorcycles and cars to run on water. All of them end up being fake. I do find it interesting though, that water changed to energy is the modern day equivalent of the philosphers stone. We used to prize gold, but now it's oil.
what a guy... he also found the cure for cancer.

Its people like him that can give science a bad name.
It obviously takes a lot more energy to conduct this 'experiment' than the ouput from it.
QUACK QUACK
Someone in the comments section of the site puts it very well....
"A warning to all local news teams: Beware of anyone claiming to go from curing cancer to replacing fossil fuels. Journalism requires skepticism people!"
there was a program on tv a while ago where they put a bunch of scientists on an island with only a bit of rubbish and some ruins and give them tasks to complete- one of them involved using a bit of electricity and they got it from sea water- so it does work- ok it was a very small amount but i dont think they had to do anything especially complicated or energy intensive to get it
you can also get 'leccy from spuds and lemons.

bla - was it 'science shack'? i love that series!
i cant remember what it was called- it was a few years ago- they used the electricity to do electrolysis to turn some silver and stuff into a kind of photographic paper
oh no, rough science i think it was. i always get the 2 mixed up.
