--> I just got offered a job interview on Thursday next week for the highest paid position that has ever offered me an interview! (19-21k pa)

Unfortunately though i am in Germany next week for STFU Heidelberg and i'm playing a set on the Friday (the day after the possible interview)

I asked if they could reschedule it for the following week when i return but was told that one of the people on the interview panel will be on holiday for 2 weeks then, so i asked if they could interview me this week instead but was told that another of the panel members is on holiday!

So its Thursday or nothing...
My dad being my dad told me to cancel the trip to Germany or at least cut my trip short.

I told him to stfu

what have i done.

you'll be getting banned in a minute ;)

juicy details, er...not sure there are any, updating website, designing newsletter, general IT/software/hardware stuff
pays well and should be relaxed. Better than what i have at the moment but of course no guarantee i'd get it, if i cancelled the whole Germany trip and then never got the job that would suck hugely, don't really want to cut the trip short either, my gig in Heidelberg is on Friday, the interview 12noon Thursday

it takes 1 hour to fly to germany - a max of 2 to the east. granted youll spend 10 hours in a uk airport getting cavity searched, etc but it will be better than possibly continuing to work for the gun nut ted nugent hunting fucktards

cut the trip.

do the interview and get a late flight on thursday or an early one on friday (though i guess an early one on friday would be better in terms a travellage to heidelberg)

seriously do the interview. you deserve a decent job with good payment and everything. the next time, you really think, the job you have at the moment sucks big time, you'll hate yourself if you don't do the interview now.

of course, there's no guarantee you'll get the new one. but i'd try.

dude....JOB. come on! you can still make it to germany right? even so, it's worth it to get the job in order. it's not guaranteed you'll get hired if you DON'T attend either. in fact, it's highly unlikely.

hmm, this could cost me a lot of money if i don't get the job, i'd need to change my whole flight plan, i was flying Glasgow->London->Baden to stay with Manuel before Stfu, now i'd need to go direct from Glasgow to Frankfurt, the ryanair flights are 1 per day and doesn't arrive until 23:50, there's 1 last bus to Heidelberg so i'd arrive at about 2:30am
alternatively i could with lufthansa but i need to change plane once, it'll take 4hrs 5 min minimum and the cheapest flight is Ł513!!!

How long would it take the extra $ from the job to pay the plane ticket?

Oh, and don't forget to count the impact the potential new job will have on your resume, translating into higher earnings in the future.
don't argue.
do the interview!
that was a german oder.

really. do the interview, even if this means not being able to make it to germany.

yogurtguy is full of german oders

would you like fries with your German oder?

Job interview, unfortunately. Even if it were the BEST FREAKING STFU EVER BETTER THAN SEX etc, yeah whatever. Get a decent job, stockpile some cash, escape and live abroad for a year before you're 30. Case closed?

Can't you get the plane on thursday if it leaves at 23:50? I'd also go with the job interview I think, if I'm able to make it with the cheap flight. But then i'm not known for good advice

Either find a way to do both, or do the job interview. You should know deep down what your chances are of getting the job. If your chances were low you wouldn't even be asking this question. I have a feeling you can OWN that job (this is an American term) if you want it.

Ok, so i booked a new flight, i'm flying out on the Thursday instead, only thing that worries me is that the airport website says:

"Caution! Changes in scheduled times are possible from july 18th. More details will be offered soon."

I fly on the 19th!
Eeek!!!
