I'm very elitist in my musical tastes, hence my music. I don't create music to seem talented or make a buttload of money, I simply create what I enjoy and throw it out there for others who might enjoy it.

Electronic Music other: Inspiration Returns
Store Written July 13 2007 , Tags: midnight, sunrise, new, song, love
I've been told once that love has, in one premise or another (lost, found, etc.), been the greatest source of inspiration for songwriting. And here I've been mucking around, writing anything but a considerable 'love song' for the nearly two years that I've been automating music. Well, I've been sacked and tied - someone has finally inspired a Zoios 'love song'.

It's still in the makes, so nothing to post as of yet, but I'm getting too excited not to at least say something. S'been awhile since I've even blogged here, let alone submitted a new song, so I figured, "Daw hell, indulge yourself however ya can, you're past due anyway." And so far, it's turning out to be the first song I've been so incredibly proud of in months. Go figure it has a toe in the Rock door, rather than being firmly electronica. (But might I say, it's quite excellent what you can do with tabla samples given some overdrive, reverb and compression.)

I'm leaning toward the name "Midnight Sunrise," most likely subtitled "(For Julia)" too. Not entirely sure what genre of electronica the first half would fit in, but the second half is easily a mixture of space rock (appropriate atmosphere and guitar soloing) and post-rock. Hell, even the end of the first half can be considered post-rock. Just think of early Porcupine Tree (or Pink Floyd) meets Mogwai and ya ain't too far off.

The special someone has to hear it first before I upload it, so there's that delay after it's finished. Then I'm not sure if my buddy has his ftp site he made for me ready, so having a direct link for the player here may be a problem. If so, I could always link to my Soundclick page.

Shfoobah. Rest of ya's been doing great work too, I've been listening.

Sounds awesome man, I'm glad you found inspiration. I got inspired by the same thing and have three albums written that just need recording.
