--> Hello emers all...

Just an update on my studio and some picts!

I have moved back to the country. Working outside my home did NOT work for me at all. In fact, my creativity for the last four months came to a complete halt. It's horrible to me how easily I take an excuse not to work, and the city offers many colorful ones.

So I found an old house in Marlboro, NY. It's really really pretty. Reminds me of Umbria, actually; it's at the top of a group of hills sloping gracefully into a valley of apple orchards. No kidding, this place looks like some kind of early American paradise!

The only thing a bit nuts is that the electricity in the upstairs (the part I want to use for my studio) is ungrounded. I had an electrician come in and try to find the problem. He couldn't, so he just added a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter to the circuit that covers this whole top floor. So at least it will be safe!

There are two smallish rooms with a short hall (and bathroom) between them. They both have oddly shaped ceilings. Jdg said it was a very good shape for recording and sound, so frankly that was the deciding factor for me! (Thank you Jdg!) I am using one room for monitoring, and the other for recording.

The rooms have SUCH a good vibe. They are very bright and I feel really creative in them already.

glad to see that things are looking up for you!

looks like a great space to get new music done, like a breath of fresh air going around your head
suppose you could use that after the NYC debacle

so nice of you to share that excitement with us, and i'm sure something great will come out of this all

wow man that looks great, im glad that u found a new place right out of brooklyn, finding new places to live always seems streesful to me.

ha! i spotted the prius as well. we drive a civic hybrid. i always have my eye out for the hybrids...

fredo> you can usually find GALLANT legs @ in the as-is of ikea, should you ever darken their nice swedish-yellow doors again.

This house vaguely reminds me of the house in the film "A Home at the end of the World". Maybe because in that film they too leave the city and move to the country.

Anyway I'm glad you have found a comfy spot to get your record on.

looks beautiful fredo cozy indeed.

That room is SO Fredo. I want it!

I'm thinking about a Prius for my next car, but the looks bug me a little. Shallow, I know.
This looks like a great place for work and relaxing. All the best Fredo!

finally! I can imagine how frustrating can be working in a wrong space.. i would be totally blocked.
This new studio looks relaxed and inspiring, and i totally agree with soft - this place looks more you.
Looking forward to hear new tunes!!!

Fantastic, Fredo. Make the most of the country!

to all ayall. (That reads like a Muslim chant, doesn't it?)

RE: The Ikea Table.
I have the same one, and I have a problem with the leg below the most weight always sliding down slowly and making the whole table rock. I am constantly adjusting the damn thing. It's a sexy looking beast though!

Also, now that you live in Marlboro, you simply must keep the rugged 5 o'clock shadow and start wearing a stetson. Oh and no more sissy singing. ;)

your new MANLY MAN McMANSOME artist name shall be:

Fred Violent

I beat folks bloody with the metal Buddha. Grrrrrrrrr..........
