--> Hello emers all...

Just an update on my studio and some picts!

I have moved back to the country. Working outside my home did NOT work for me at all. In fact, my creativity for the last four months came to a complete halt. It's horrible to me how easily I take an excuse not to work, and the city offers many colorful ones.

So I found an old house in Marlboro, NY. It's really really pretty. Reminds me of Umbria, actually; it's at the top of a group of hills sloping gracefully into a valley of apple orchards. No kidding, this place looks like some kind of early American paradise!

The only thing a bit nuts is that the electricity in the upstairs (the part I want to use for my studio) is ungrounded. I had an electrician come in and try to find the problem. He couldn't, so he just added a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter to the circuit that covers this whole top floor. So at least it will be safe!

There are two smallish rooms with a short hall (and bathroom) between them. They both have oddly shaped ceilings. Jdg said it was a very good shape for recording and sound, so frankly that was the deciding factor for me! (Thank you Jdg!) I am using one room for monitoring, and the other for recording.

The rooms have SUCH a good vibe. They are very bright and I feel really creative in them already.

Tons more shots taken at late dusk here: link

hahaha goodone

ikea desks are like sad northern european transformers that turn into civil servants.

ikea desks are gobots

and their only special power is that you'll occasionally sit down and find a mysterious existential poem on the nature of aging

instead of guns, they have allen wrenches.

ahahahahahahah!!! Yay Northern European Tranformers! !!!

Hum bee dip bee doo dee dum dee bip dee dee
Humm dee dum dee dum
Orkenborks, Roooll!

thats look v-nice.
wooden floors are the shizzle.

i just rearranged my bedroom,
proper good vibe realignment.
its essential.
i can walk across the room without having to step over things. it feels wonderful.

wow that studio is clean.
my way of working is to clean the area up, and then work like mad until it is a complete pit: wires every where, 9 volt batteries, cans of diet coke, pot seeds, all of the cordless teleophones in the house.
and then start over again.

haha, not allen wrenches... they come with those cheap bent metal "tools" that ship with the furniture.

snap babe snap.

Perfectly beautiful.

ZEN.

trouble in paradise....

yesterday about 5 pm the circuit tripped. The top floor is all running to a 15 amp circuit which has some faulty grounding. We tried to fix it but ended up not being able to find where the grounding was off. So we installed a Ground Fault Circuit Interruptor and yesterday it did it's job and interupted. So today I have to call the landlord and break it to him that he has to do more work, and this time it will be costly. Could be the start of some serious problems for me. I hope not. The place is too lovely for this kind of bad energy!
