People will come to you with The Most Retarded Questions Ever. The absolute most important thing you can practice in an IT support role is patience and kindness. It'll help to remember that, although they are idiots, you don't have to be an asshole about it, and you should never make them feel stupid (especially when you get up several flights of stairs to reconnect someones USB mouse that fell out). It's a tough one, but try and make them feel involved, or useful, or anythingother than plain dumb. "Yes, it is a tricky question, should you upgrade Adobe Reader now, or later. Best to just get it over with, eh? stupid adobe". If you can vent your little frustrations at the software rather than the person you'll do well at review and promotion times. Practice caring about the persons problem (not just sounding that way) and being interested and alert, even if they ask you the same thing every single day. It will help if you beat a sack of potatoes with a baseball bat after work. Biting through your lips also helps.

Nice one Paul!
What makes it funny is that it wasn't even a good interview! One of my worst ones in fact...
I honestly felt like just walking out at 1 point as i thought i was just wasting my time being there!
the other candidates must've been well shit!

You know what, I thought exactly the same thing. The guy interviewing me only asked a couple of basic questions then he brought someone else in to tell me what the job entailed.
I hope it goes well for you anyway man
