the sandwich shoppe on greenwich ave and percy st. best sandwiches ever. make sure to get the garlic mayo. yum.
the zen palate in union square. f'in amazing vegetarian place. all the bars in the east village. for tourist-y stuff.. - the rockefeller plaza observatory deck is well worth the price. - trying to touch the glass at the apple store on 5th ave and not getting beat down by a security guard is a fun game to play.

i'm a museum freak so i would recommend the museum of modern art and the museum of television and broadcasting (where you can request to see any TV show from the past----the #1 request is the beatles 1st appearance on ed sullivan) also the metropolitan museum of art which has the 3rd largest collection of ancient egyptian artifacts in the world. there must be a lot of cool live music down in the east village too.
your mom's an east village... I really wanna leave work.
i think that a cool place is in williamsburg brooklyn, its called Barcade, I always recomend that cause its beer and video games lining the walls, not to mention the most "cool" people I've seen in one place at one time.
