--> It's been a while. I thought I'd share a new track.

I suppose I should update this a little bit. Hi. I've been busy. My girlfriend and I spent the summer camping, talking, dancing and sleeping late on Saturdays. Something had to give, mostly my music, although I eked out a few half-finished ideas despite myself. While she's gone this week I sat down and sorted through all my music and surprised myself with the realization that I'm almost done with another album. Working on a live show as well with a friend of mine who plays a mean trumpet (he's awful--the trumpet just has a really bad attitude), aiming for a show Aug 18th. Ok, Sept 1st. How about mid-October? You get the idea. Would be nice to have a show before the next album goes to mastering. At least before Thanksgiving. Easter, maybe? We've been practicing in his condo's storage unit, with headphones, which is comical. People occasionally walk in on us rocking out--all they can hear is the trumpet. We can't afford a P/A so it's down to renting a space by the hour, which we will do soon, I'm sure.

In other news, I'm broke as hell so if you haven't bought Theme for Travel yet, now would be a great time to stock up on Christmas stocking stuffers. Or a nice set of coasters.

I'm not sure this song represents a new direction for me as much as my ongoing exploration of genres. I wouldn't expect the new album to be very cohesive, and I'm not sure if that's important or not. It certainly makes it hard to play a show without confusing your audience.

Finally, I'm sorry to see mixit has become so neglected. I take some blame for not picking up the ball when zfigs took a vacation, so sorry about that. Maybe we'll get the fires stoked again this fall. I think mixedtape is still working on the site redesign. Someone oughtta light that kid up a bit...

"i had to redo the beats several times to make them even simpler."
I guess that's why only a part of me wanted the beat to change. You've made it work as it is.

And "longcore", that's hilarious.

girlfriend.

I haven't listened yet.
But I will in like an hour.
Thanks for the Jerker tips, Jerk.

also, it's pronounced "yerker," you stupid texan.

ACTUALLY, you jerker, I can't hear it at all, because work blocks virb.
so just post the damn song on the four one one, yo.

That bass kick in yer tune is deeelicious!

been saving this blog for a dry spell of lulz.

but wtf
i can never get that song to play

the virb player is good, but not without its quirks. i do notice that sometimes you have to let the whole song load before you can get it to play. other times, that doesn't seem to be the case. maybe it's just loading faster now and then?

in any case, it's better than the player here and i can manage whether or not people can download the song. not that i don't want all'a yous to have a copy, i just don't want it to be the pre-mastered demo version.

way better than the flash player here that's for sure. this one is just retarded. but yeah the virb player does wait until it loads I believe. I'm pretty sure that virb made the player themselves, it's not a free stock flash player like the one here.
