Jesus, Mos Def made a fucking fool of himself. He'd be more effective in this type of setting if he calmed down and expressed his opinions more rationally.
He was certainly hilarious though. I think I like him better how he is.

what do you think made him look foolish? i thought he was pretty clever and funny about the "they never landed on the moon" thing and that the professor dude provided a sort of balanced counter point and explanation for why mos def said some of the things he did.. it was like getting footnotes.

It's a Bill Maher show .... people are allowed to let loose and act a little foolish. That's what makes it fun and entertaining.
that being said ... I thought he looked a bit foolish. We didn't land on the moon? c'mon .. reminds me of being on the spot in a high school.

i saw this show. i liked it. i love mos def, for what he is, a rapper who pays attention to social issues of great importance. i can't say that about too many ppl with his level of prestige, unfortunately. now if 50 cent all of a sudden came out and said fuck the government - okay, they'd destroy him and he would be destroyed.
but eminem has been expressing his thoughts on a corrupt government. and i think cause it's so insanely far out he'll be okay LOL but seriously... wtf is up with our society, particularly in regards to our government, that more of us can't express this in our art? well, on a different scale, of course we do. i hope, i guess, just that more ppl see and support more socially conscious rappers, musicians, writers, etc, and there's a more open exchange of ideas on these issues yada yada
i could thread jack here but i won't
