Fun so far. Amazing purchase.
8 assignable 360 degree knobs
6 assignable sliders
16 Velocity/pressure sensitive pads.
and much more..
Just need to learn it better.
I'm a little dumb when it comes to control it via FL. If anyones got any tips, well.. that'll be just damn awesome.
i want to learn how to control fruity slicer with this puppy.

You're welcome.
I was working for Akai when the MPD24 was being developed. Some of my suggestions became the features you now see.
I do however apologise for the limited function of the Transport controllers and the lack of NRPN ans SYSEX support. I lobbied for greater function to no avail.
As for using Fruity slicer with the MPD I suggest just using the Chromatic template and going to town.

@ SeanShea
That's amazing, but you "were" working for Akai when it was being developed.. What happened? You left the company?
:
And thanks for the tip. The Chromatic present is perfect.

Yeah,
Someday i will tell all the details. Suffice it to say I had to put up with some things no worker should have to.
Also Numark taking over Alesis and Akai was a very bad thing for all fans of the products.

It's scary how well that MPD fits with the all in one fax printer in the background...

Have to ask, is it easy to do rolls on a single pad with 2-3 fingers?

in FL you can right click and choose "link to controller" on any fruity knob you want to control. this brings up a dialog for making your controller assignment. i believe you can then move the button/slider knob u want to control that feature with to get its controller number to show up, then click accept.
if you want to control a knob on a vst/vsti, move the knob u want a little and then choose "last tweaked parameter" from the wrapper menu (that little grey plug thing in the top left corner) and then choose "link to controller"
there is also some settings in the midi settings section of the options. you can choose your controller from a list or choose a generic one (i don't see the mpd24 in the list on my version of fl)

can you hold the pads down for different note lengths or do they only output the shortest possible length?

not for me it isn't. But using 3 fingers on 3 pads it works out.

The midi notes last as long as you press the pads.

thats good- if i ever get a midi controller itll be one of these (probably unless theyre really expensive) rather than a keyboard
