--> Hi there, emers

I'm planning to start performing in Europe and having read Mapmap's post about Some Cats from Japan being amazing live, would love an idea of what it takes to get a reaction like that!

I'm a bit intimidated really by the whole live persona thing. I guess I can dance, but it's really oddball and floaty. That's probably the only way to describe it. And I think it's a little embarrassing perhaps. So if I don't jump around like a troubador will I still be able to stage a great show?

What will it take??? I have been practicing my singing a lot, so hopefully will be able to give a good vocal performance, but will that be enough?

If some of you could fill me in on things that have most impressed/moved you at shows I would be extremely appreciative.

you could pull a cex and get up there in just you underpants, people like the total wacko stuff

and yell and shout obsenities at the crowd. all the greats do that

yekker, Fredo's got class, it'snot like he is otoo from schirach or something

i mean i expect his audience to have class aswell and to be not amused by underpants shouting oscenities

yes, exactly. just have fun! don't worry about that other shit! don't try and be anything. if you are having fun up there we will enjoy your show.

Fan 1: I say, this Fredo chap has impeccable class.
Fan 2: Indubetably!
Fan 1: His live performance displays the true depth of his epicurean tastes.
Fan 2: Too true, my good fellow. Now shall we hie off to yon mosh pit?
Fan 1: Righty-o, old chap!

i have to agree everyone here who said "be yourself". just go w/it. sing your lungs and heart out and have fun with your songs.. it's your music and i'm sure performing it will be great fun for you. so, don't be afraid to show people that you are having fun up there on stage by dancing.. being goofy or whatever.. i wouldn't worry about it really. if you are going to worry about anything it should be nailing the performance.

i really like jamie lidell live because you can see he was really into it and just singing his heart out and was having fun and was totally passionate about what he was doing. i think that came across really well and the audience picked up on it.

the live show you did in new york some time ago.. the one you posted video of.. i thought that was great too. you were totally into and it was entertaining and most importantly it sounded great.

the last clip i've seen fredo playing life the audience was sitting in chairs

no mosh pit mlbot. no talking either. everyone was focused at the artist. you're the simulacrum fredo, tickle those retinas (esp. tympanums) man

I had actually considered doing a show in tightywhities and a beaded wrap, with a wizard's hat that has a bird's nest on top (with actual chirping birds.) Is this a good idea or a bad one?

thats a great idea for a show, but not a music show.

hahaha wizards hat and bird's nest omfg;olol

that is just funny because you would look rediculous

= BAD idea

wrar barbara streisand on your bach eating fellafel that would be great
