Well crap. I got some bad news today that it looks like this may be the last month Apotheke will be open. This was known from the beginning I started Aleatoric, but I forgot ... 8 months will do that to you w/ no reminder. Caleb has been wanting to move to a different location in PDX, but it won't happen for some time. So it looks like this is the last month for Aleatoric for a long time. I'll get more news this friday for the show, but it's not looking too good. He may have a buyer and need to be out by the first of the month.
So, if you are in Portland and am not going to Seattle for Decibel, do come out to Aleatoric on Friday (the 21st). Full Contact Botany had to be off the list due to the obligation to act this weekend w/ Mori, so I'll be filling his place. No instruments unfortunately, just my laptop.
As soon as I hear more word, I'll let you all know. Hopefully I'll see some of you Friday ... | |

Electronic music venues in Portland are like mushrooms it seems... they spout up seasonally, but rarely in the same place twice in a row.
Hope you can keep Aleatoric going, though. You are still here, bands are still here, us fans are still here. We just need a big mushroom.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I want to stay loyal to Caleb cause I get along w/ him and I really liked the venue for what I was going for. I'm a big fan of Holocene, but I'm not sure if Aleatoric would be good for it cause I've been going for more of a laid back atmosphere that's not dance floor oriented. And Holocene is more of a large, upbeat venue imo. So I'm not sure right now. I need to talk w/ Caleb in person on Friday before the show. I don't mind taking a month or two off, but if the new venue isn't in sight, I'm going to have to look around to see what would work. Any suggestions???

Ramp was fun at Holocene. But you probably can't get a weekend monthly there. The lounge area is great 4 experimental. I say Holocene is the place to go! Another option is Pi-Rem. Caleb is friends with Pi-Rem's owner. How about NE PDX? We need something cool like Aleatoric up there!

Yeah, I was hoping for a Fri or Sat, since those are the only nights that jive w/ my work schedule.
I know Gandolf @ Pi-Rem and have played there. I love that venue for djs, but there is really bad feedback for anyone using mics due to the speaker placement in the room, unless you sit right on top of the speakers ... and that won't work. Great beer and feel though. Damnit, I'm too picky. I guess I have to whip Caleb into shape for getting the next place going asap.
I'd be all about NE if I found the right place. Much closer to SE where I live. Fuck, I'm really just looking for something exactly like Apotheke and I'm not going to find it :-(
