--> Well crap. I got some bad news today that it looks like this may be the last month Apotheke will be open. This was known from the beginning I started Aleatoric, but I forgot ... 8 months will do that to you w/ no reminder. Caleb has been wanting to move to a different location in PDX, but it won't happen for some time. So it looks like this is the last month for Aleatoric for a long time. I'll get more news this friday for the show, but it's not looking too good. He may have a buyer and need to be out by the first of the month.

So, if you are in Portland and am not going to Seattle for Decibel, do come out to Aleatoric on Friday (the 21st). Full Contact Botany had to be off the list due to the obligation to act this weekend w/ Mori, so I'll be filling his place. No instruments unfortunately, just my laptop.

As soon as I hear more word, I'll let you all know. Hopefully I'll see some of you Friday ...

bummer, that place was really cool with all the white.

so friday is a good bye to apotheke. i will be there drinking something tasty and remembering the time i filled the place w/sub bass and someone, ahem, gave me a wrapped up brownie that said "open for special pirate powers".

i'll remember the time Gasp played a set at 130ish bpm instead of 90 and all the unrec now sets of awesomeness and of course probably the most AWESOME thing i heard there which was Arrovane playing that insanely dense rocking experimental set with his eyes closed just turning knobs. didn't someone record that? so many awesome shows there over the past couple years.

mostly i'll remember just chilling and drinking and BS-ing w/friends.

thanks caleb and whoever else made something happen there.

Ah the memories. I will miss the specialty liquors. I remember the time you filled the place with sub bass. Did you get the special pirate powers?

My most memorable moments:
Heading over there with m50 and seeing LGO and my future wife on stage performing their colab music....
Me playing guitar w/ LGO...
One of the last Ainu gigs.
Gasp played some WICKED shows there!
Seeing Proem was definitely one of my highlights.
After obtaining special pirate powers... seeing hteah vanish before my eyes and re-appear saying "you're not even paying attention to me are you?"
Playing the show with Yard.
Improv Dirty Panda @ Aleatoric. SICK!

I'll have to head over Friday and drink to the memories and the future!

so many great shows.. good times.

the power outage part was fun that one time, although i think we annoyed some of the staff with our relentless improv percussion jams. i'll definately miss it, and here's hoping that Caleb will find another suitable place, and make something even more exciting!

suck suck suck!!!

shitty! maybe we should all chain ourselves to the sculptures in there, occupy it and force Caleb to keep it open! we could paint ourselves completely white, then they couldn't even find us to drag us out!
so many great shows there, thank you Caleb and Apotheke staff.

i loved playing at apotheke! unrecognizable now shows there were always fun. we built the custom made 15'x10' screen just for visuals at our apotheke shows! such a bummer. i hope that caleb opens something rad in NE PDX (no.pdx would be even better... maybe near mississippi?) i will be there even more often if it were on the east side.
i am still so so sad....

when will it close?

Boo! I hate this blog!

But as Mike said we did know that Apotheke was going to close when we decided to throw Aleatroic there. I was just hoping that the day wouldn't come so soon.

I know Caleb will come up with some thing great and Aleatroic will be back! See you all Friday!

@senior- i disappear at times and usually re-appear very self-conscious.
ill miss this place...i remember pulling up in front in my cab and pickin up cabloads of strange em folks. i think asmo tried to climb the morrison bridge while it was up one of those nights..i remember very little of most of my life these days, but i did enjoy the white place. goodbye 2001 space odyssey. sad.

ergh.

teh suxs.. but honestly it's not RIP just yet.. i know caleb has tons of sick ideas for a new space and it's just a matter of time, i hope.. so keep your eyes peeled for killer spaces, i think that is the missing link.

i think any new incarnation will be much closer to caleb's original ideals than the current version of apotheke, there is quite a bit of baggage that goes alaong with a high-profile high-rent location in the pearl.

having said that, i will miss apotheke as it is.. i hope the new owner of the space uses it creatively too.

i have had a lot of fun both attending and setting up events at apotheke, thanks to everyone else for making it worthwhile.

thanks to everyone who came out and who played ... it was a grand finale!!!
