Fuck!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! What the hell is this "Guys and Dolls"? OMG! There was another thread here, the GOP one, talking about the effects of a patriarchal society. Well, shit, man, it's pretty obvious in this documentary. I've only seen three stories so far, and all of them have the same psychological theme running through them. Men, who want to dominate their mothers, whether alive or dead. And men who, resenting the the influence that their fathers have over them and lacking courage to meet and bond with real women, redirect their frustration toward the Real Doll that symbolizes the mother figure, fantasize about dominating the mother figure. I guess that's why the Real Doll is so important. It's for men who don't have the courage to be submissive to real women. Which as anybody who has been in a healthy relationship knows, submission to one's partner is paramount to the relationship's vitality and success.
I guess I'll go and finish the film now. I wonder if this theme runs every story told in the film...

Well, more stories weren't told. In William Gibson's Neuromancer folks have sex with AI real dolls. They are referred to as "dolls" and "dummies". I guess if things continue on in the way they have been, it'll become commonplace to some extent. My previous synopsis doesn't cover all of the psychological aspects of the Real Doll phenomenon, but none of it is encouraging. Quite sad and pitiful, really.
