--> hooplah!!

Um, I wasn't sure whether or not to start a new blog for this (as I already have one on the go)....but I decided to in the end because I am soooooo excited and happy ;)

It's 3:30am and I just got back from my (virgin voyage) first public liveset. I know some things went wrong but the reaction was amazing!!! The room was all but empty when I started and it filled and stayed full throughout my set.

Afterwards, the reaction was mental! People were pretty blown away i think and as I find it fucking impossible to judge my own stuff I rely on peoples' reaction.

Highlights were:

- a girl i have never met came up to me with such love for me and she was almost lost for words. she said it gave her goosebumps - YEEEEHA!

- the guy who played a BUZZ set i loved before i played, said my set was so much better than his...and he really meant it. i was flattered.

- pretty much everyone came up to me and said they loved it. not in a "your our mate, best say we loved it" way...but in a super genuine and loving way.

Lowlights were:

- my guitar pedal fucked up pretty badly and kinda got a stuck note until i sorted it half way through my set. I kinda dealt with it but I think it would've been better if it'd worked.

- someone stubbed a fag out on my guitar, when I wasn't looking. my grandad taught me not to worry about shit like that, so i didn't.

- nobody recorded or filmed it.

Sorry for the massive new blog but I am soooo fucking chuffed with how it went. I have been invited back to play again, which is nice. the promoter was stoked.

My virgin voyage rocked it and i look forward to STFU more than ever now! Thanks to everyone for advice and encouragement. Some of what was said was really in the forefront of my mind tonight. BIG UPS!

WOOOOOOOOP!

way to go.

"- someone stubbed a fag out on my guitar, when I wasn't looking. my grabdad taught me not to worry about shit like that, so i didn't."

what????

i remember you saying you were scared about your first gig. glad it turned out so good. sounds like you had a ball.
the anxiety over an upcoming event is always worse than the actual event.

yay! ta for your kind words!!

djugel: when you say what????? if you are mean 'grabdad', that is meant to be 'grandad' but if you mean why would someone do that.....um, fuck knows. turns out it might be a chip...now i can see it under proper lights. hmmm...not to worry...

nightowl: i was indeed shite scared...until the night really, when somehow I chilled quite a lot. i was happiest that i dealt with and adapted to the technical issues i had. the show must go on
