It takes me a long time to make a track. Its just the way I work. I like to try all sounds, have multiple versions, assess from different starting points, listen at different tempos. I like to work this way. It takes a long time though.
I've been on this site for years but I've been reluctant to post tracks. I haven't posted anything anywhere. Optimistically (uh, very optimistically) if anyone liked my tracks I didn't want to have to be all 'Oh, I'm glad you like it, I'm working on another one- you can listen to it next March.' So I wanted to have a whole album together. I wanted all the track to relate to each other.
So I finally picked the tracks and released my album.

(come say hi)
My album "Forces Against Nature" is available on my site

I'm working on the next one.
Shortly after releasing I did my first remix.
It's with an artist named Del*.* He is very talented with middle eastern strings which he mods and runs through software. He sent me a great piece on the sitar with a bit of distortion and I went from there. It was very fun. The track is Gol and his new album format C is on Deep White Sound. I really like remixing.
Thanks for reading

I've flirted with the idea of getting more than one track ready, a collection so to speak, to give to friends to listen to and so on for a long time, but instead do what you describe (there might be another tune in a few months). Must feel good to get a collection together, something that you can draw a line under and something substantial finished to have and put on and listen to alongside your record collection. Anyway, this ain't no confession booth!
Good for you

$5 isn't a bad price for a CD... sometimes I wonder about Kunaki's $3 handling fee on top of shipping, might work out better so buy a buttload of CDs from Kunaki and start selling them through CDBaby...
I can't hear the tracks at work due to MySpace blockage, but I'm going to go ahead and wager that it's worth it and place an order...
in the mean time, check out Virb.com for putting your tunes online, it's much less irritating than MySpace and gives you a lot more 'room' and higher quality audio streams..
(and it isn't blocked at my work.. ha!)

Chances are if you've been around here a bit or post a lot, I have listened to your tracks. Knowing the level of quality and creativity thats around here, makes it very daunting to hit submit For real.
Oh, Eternity! Thank you sooo much. After sending it out, I heard from my friend that at loud volumes, the bass shook their car terribly. Seems like my new album is turning out with slightly more house influence. Hopefully this will allow for the next goal; of shaking the car of the listener and the adjacent automobile as well.
Thank you all for your comments.

Cool, I'd recommend working on improving your percussion/rhythm sequencing, thats the only thing that really strikes me. Stuff like accenting the down beats - or backbeats, and paying attention to velocity in fills, using swing. I don't mean it in a bad way its just a way you can improve your tracks quite a bit with some new simple techniques.

+1 LOL point for this:
In 2007 after the release of her CD on Kunaki, Systemchick wrote her own biography of herself in the 3rd person. She felt this was better than throwing a fake first and last name at the bottom trying to pretend it was press like everybody else. "I feel it's more legit this way", she says.
