Roshi rightly suggested I post this to a new bloggy so folks don't miss it.
--> So for the Portland get together this weekend while deltasleep's in town, we're looking at meeting up at Vita on 32nd & Alberta, this Sunday evening (Oct 14) at 6ish. I'll send a quick note to everyone who posted too so we have an idea of how many folks we have. Roshi suggested this joint, so beat his ass if it sucks!

Sorry I couldn't make it -- we didn't get back into town until after 8pm and we were BEAT from all the driving - my grandmother died and we had a funeral in Salt Lake City on Friday, then the wedding in Boise on Saturday, and home on Sunday... all by car. So -- what happened to Tanner?

Tanner fainted...and hurt his ankle. We ended up calling an ambulance. Last we saw him he was lucid, but his ankle seemed in bad shape. We called his wife, so hopefully everything should be under control.
I'll be calling his wife this morning to see how he is. More details soon.

Just talked to Connie...unfortunately it seems Tanner broke his leg in 2 places when he fell. He's lucid, but obviously in pain. They're slightly worried about the fainting - they decided to keep him there overnight for observation, but I think he will be getting out sometime today.

I kind of giggled as he fell (he's a tall guy, so it was a long second there), thinking he was joking. Performance Art! right? He fell right toward Ignatius, then slumped backwards. we heard a "pop", and I realized his glasses fell off and were about to get stepped on.
wearing glasses myself, knowing how expensive they are, knew at that point he wasn't horsing around!!
way to leave a party, tho, grinning on a stretcher getting put into an ambulance!
If I had a shitty grin on my face after that (I'm sure I did), it was just cuz it was too surreal!
I saw my brother pass out once - well, I made him pass out - but I thought it didn't work, so I let go of him. he toppled forward, smacking his head into dresser then falling to a heap on the floor. he woke up crying, and i think i was bent over with laughter. ah... what are brothers for?

I'm going to make it a point to learn people's real names when I meet them in person.
the paramedic standing next to me asks, "are you all his friends?"
I say, "yeah"
"What's his name?"
I hesitated before saying "Tantan", then Roshi (Ted) stepped forward to give the right answer.
Now, I'd have felt really stupid if they asked me MY name, and I said "MonkeyPlus1"
