--> Just a blog to let you know that tantan is all right and he's at home now, starting the slow process of healing his broken leg. So I decided to post this get well blog for him so you all can wish him better.

What happened? Well, we were all meeting up at Vita cafe, as part of a em411 real life meetup with Deltasleep. As we were talking, Tantan said he felt nauseous and basically passed out. Ignatius made a valiant effort to catch him but it all happened way too fast - I'm just glad he managed to prevent him from banging his head.

Unfortunately, the way he landed he broke his leg up both at the knee and ankle. Mapmap called an ambulance for him and we tried to make him comfortable. Anyhow, the ambulance came quickly and took him away. We managed to get hold of Connie (his wife), and she took it from there. He now has a thigh high fiberglass cast and they think it's going to be three months for recovery. Fortunately, he can telecommute from home starting next week.

Why did he pass out? Evidently nausea can trigger the vagus nerve, which can cause a sudden drop in blood pressure. They kept him at the hospital for a couple nights on a heart monitor, but they think he has a sensitive vagus nerve (why does it sound dirty when I type that?)

Anyhoo, I'm glad he didn't die, and I hope you are too.

Thanks for that image, fredo. I'll take it with me to my grave.

Also, I think a using a cup would save paint

sure, a teacup ;)

I shouldn't LOL at that, but I did.

Bump!

Just a link to a very subjective, slightly uncomfortable photo that I wanted to show what that full leg cast was all about. Apologies, it's a bit, uh, revealing.
