I want to beable to logon to my bank acount and see my fello bank investers, write them a message and send them a message about how my bank is going to win the myspace bank of the year.

Instead of eye candy there could be some additional functions to help with finding info - and/or improve serendipity.
(actually Im not sure additions would do this, maybe leaving out some of the choices would be better.)
Avatars would be a good thing though.
And to make it more refreshing a revolving header could be put in place. Kind of like a changing background for the title text. Ive seen that put to good use on a few sites. Some eye candy but not too invasive.
