I can dig documentarians who lay their shit all out of the table for you, that is to say, if they're going to unsubtly spoonfeed you a point of view, a frank confession of bias helps.
But yes, any given doco is rarely any more or less biased than any other, in my opinion--it just comes down to how implicit the biases are in the material and editorial choices. Recently saw (finally) "Paradise Lost," which largely progresses with little or no overt assertion of perspective. However, the editorial choices quietly, gradually build such a powerful sense of empathy with the three kids, as well as fear of the maniacal father guy that its persective is pretty inescapable.

Thats it really.
Presenting opinion as unbiased fact reeks of dishonesty.
Maybe unbiased journalism has never really existed, but at least it was clear to most people (i hope) that the information was already colored by the view of the 'messager'
Or maybe it was that there were more views to choose from.
