Hi all,
So I was checking imdb to see if The Education of Charlie Banks had gotten more specific distribution details, when I read a post that there is now a website and full trailer.
The trailer makes really strong use of the song, and the cast is really great in this movie. Here's a link for any who are interested: link

it IS cool! The movie has it's faults, but that's part of what's cool about it. It's not too slick. My feeling is that Durst did a really great job, but shot the thing in too many long shots. It's usually exactly the opposite! It show's the guy has balls. But the two most effective use of close ups are at the beginning and the end when he is in the childhood flashbacks and playing Sad Song in full volume. Honestly, I almost sobbed, it was that powerful. You get a little sense of the emotional pitch from the trailer, but really it gets even more intense, because it's restrained and to have some violence resonate into a childhood flashback is so moving. It's like the kind of contrast that makes music powerful. I guess that shows that he's got music in his blood.
And, btw, I met the guy, and he was very cool and soft spoken. The music supervisor who got me involved in the film explained that Durst doesn't really listen to the kind of music he makes. That was just a money-making project for him. I'm not sure I totally believe that, but I do think that you can find depth in every source. It just needs to be taken out of context.

Good on you man, it's awesome to hear about em-ers making real world moves! You've lit a fire under me in the best way possible.
And the film looks really good, so it could surprise some people, especially if it hits the festival circuit.

Yeah man, it sounds awesome, they are lucky to have you on it. It really brings
out the E in epic when your song comes on. Also, the picture looks very quality.
Yeah Fredo, your such a great inspiration for me as well as many others (as I see)
that one can make contacts and do some big things, it takes so much work
and a level of proficiency such as yours, best of luck with that film taking off!!

I will I promise, i miss you too man. I've been getting out of work at 9pm
and have found it hard to chat. Anyway's about this movie, freaking great man
I forgot how (cause I think you told me) you made this connection. I think it
was something like Durst heard Song and Loved it. I bet he has great taste in music,
he is a business man, he did it all for the nookie and the benjermans, lol. You on the
other hand do it for the passion and thrill...and most of all for yourself, not for little
17 year old girls and boys, substance. I hope I can keep my music the way i wan't it
and have someone (anyone) say they like it or want to use it. What a thrill!
