--> The mention of SeanShea's mame party got me juiced about my table at home that I just finished.

I basically took an Ikea table (ramvik I think) and modified it so it could fit a pc inside along with an lcd screen. Then I just built the controllers and put it on with some brackets. It's great because it plays like an arcade but it isn't an obnoxious thing to have in a house.

Wow... I want one

She's a beaut.... nice work!!!!

i want one too! i want to play 'kick off' now. is the screen placed horizontally? is it comfortable to watch?

i always dreamed of building my own cabinet for a sega saturn system. thats the sysmtem all the arcade(all go ones) games ran on in the 90s.

your setup is sweet dude, youre a good craftsman

Yeah, the screen is horizontal and upside down - it looks great to me and everyone who's played it. Some of the mame purists insist on a genuine arcade monitor, but they're much bulkier than lcd's. So far me and my girl are playing plenty of ms. pacman, street fighter alpha, monster farm jump, metal slug3, baseball 2020 and 1942. I'm an absolute hack when it comes to building, so trust me when I say anyone can do it. You should see the looks on peoples faces when they come over - they love it! It's so much more interesting than watching tv. Plus it's got a jukebox built in so it fits in nicely with the living room vibe.

Good choice of buttons. Buttons are important.

Ahhhh! Congrats on getting on Boingboing!

Wow, I fail at linking. Damn edit button kicks me to the front page. Anyway, congrats.

Wait, that one looks different than yours. Oh jeez.

I'm going back to lurking for another couple months.

Hahaha, great minds eh? I like his but it's a tad more oldschool - to be honest street fighter alpha gets more love in my house than any of the older games. So would I be an attention whore if I forwarded mine to boing boing? What is the ettiquette for showing of nerd stuff?

Boingboing sometimes gets on tears of stuff, where one post will inspire people to send in more like it, I say go for it.

It's just funny because I glanced at the one on boingboing, surfed over to EM411, saw this blog, and went "well what are the odds of TWO people building MAME cabinets into IKEA furniture? Gotta be the same one."
