--> I just saw em411 alum Deadelus here in Minneapolis and he absolutely killed it. He played live with a monomachine (which he had tilted toward the audience for show) and was an absolute blast to watch.
He started out the set, which was a continuous dancey melange of drum and bass, 4 on the floor and hip hop, by chopping up the theme song to willy wonka...a perfect mood setter, considering his fashion/persona.

I've seen some videos of people playing monomachines online before but never as successfully entertaining as what I saw last night. I was absolutely floored and highly recommend you catch him live, even if his music isn't really your style. His showmanship, responsiveness to the crowd and panache make it a fun time regardless.

A+!

oh yeah, I remember that!

He plays here on Tuesday. Maybe I'll check him out.

Really nice guy. Super cool to watch, too!

Saw him in Seattle on his last tour, and it was fucking great. I already have my tickets for his Seattle show. The headliner that night (Busdriver) isn't bad either.

dope! have you met him?

Yeah, actually it's funny. My friend has known him for years...he always wanted me to meet his friend Alfred, cause he thought we had a lot in common.

I went over to his show last year with my friend and finally got to meet him and talk a little...

ha! that's rad.

he had this when i saw him play, i assumed it was homemade as i'm sure i'd read about it somewhere on the net before

here is a cool video of Daedelus playing his monome and at the end he's talking about it... and then the guy who builds the monome machines comes for further details.

I definitely will make it a point to see one of his shows. Thanks. !

he used to hang out here with us, actually. He and I shot a few em-mails back and forth, and then i guess i was no longer the only person who had figured out he was pretty good and he disappeared. next year he was working with prefuse73.
I've always liked his stuff, and if you like him you'd love lowlifi. link
