I didn't really like Agaetis Byrun when I first heard it, but I've just gone back to it after playing Takk to death and its really growing on me. I guess Takk is more accessible (less adventurous)? My fav albums do turn out to be the ones that take a bit of getting used to.

Agreed that Hoppipolla is lovely, but I think Sigur Ros have about four good songs in total, and everything else is just differnet takes and remixes of those.
I saw them live a few years ago, and they were much more aggressive/sharp and rough than the recorded sound. Makes the albums feel weak and sickly sweet. I hope they are still as good live today as they were then.

Yes it's true, everybody seems to be using Sigur Ros songs on TV adverts and everything here.
I saw them in Glasgow last summer.
One of the best and most surreal gigs I've been to.
Everyone was just standing, not really moving much at all.
Mind you I only really bop my head so I was cool with it.
They played Southampton just recently didn't they?

I absolutely love that song as well, I think it's probably my favorite Sigur Ros track. They are very similar to the music I would like to make, I love their use of guitars a lot.

I haven't seen sigur ros live yet, but the takes that were in the scandinavian documentary screaming masterpieces had them performing odin's raven magic, and it was pretty electric. Other than that the music can seem a little alike.
