Electronic Music other: concert and positivity
Store Written December 11 2007
The Positive Jam has been together for about a year now, and we're super excited about playing our first show. In case you were wondering, it's Dec. 17th at The Someday Lounge (125 NW 5th) here in Portland. We're playing with some other em411ers, in their various guises of The Oo-Ray, Umami, and Demi Batard.

Personally, I feel great about the music. Most of the electronic music I've made in the past has been dour and depressing, and I'm looking forward to playing a different kind of show, with positive songs (or jams, if you will), meant to be fun and upbeat. Sometimes, writing the material for PJ has been writing from the perspective of the person I want to be (happy) rather than the person I am at the time (depressed), but that's been good for me.

Outwardly depressed people make happy music. Outwardly happy people make depressed music.

Or not.
And good for you. Wish I was in PDX.
Jim- wish I could go see this, it sounds like a lot of fun!

looking forward to hearing your sounds, jim.
What is this "positivity"?
I'm not entirely familiar with that phrase...
