--> hi folks,
well i got some good feedback regarding where to get some webspace. i think i'm going to go with yahoo, and use their sitebuilder software. a friend offered some space, but i don't want to be a nuisance and have to bug him about stuff.
now: do folks have any memorable websites (including their own) that i could peek at for ideas? i won't steal any, but am looking to get familiar with design techniques, etc.

I was facing the same dilemma as you a few months back and went with hosting on a small orange. I'm using wordpress, although haven't managed to esape from the standard wordpress look and feel yet on my experimental site.

When I get the time I'm going to make some .php code for a release section so that I can post tunes in the same way I post other stuff, but the tunes will have custom fields and will get displayed differently. In fact, they probably won't be displayed on the main page but just on the tunes page.

And everything I post with the "my-music" category gets aggregated on emfeeds.com, which is a cool feature because I don't think people who follow emfeeds will want to hear about holidays and stuff which I also write about for the benefit of family & friends.

But mainly at the moment I'm just storing tunes on that webspace and releasing them here. And I've created multiple ftp accounts so that music making friends can upload sound snippets for remote collaboration.
