This man is without a doubt my living idol. I laughed long and hard each time I watched this hilarious psa.

Such a sadness indeed!

OMG I am so in love with that guy!!!

altho actually having finally seen inland empire I think it might work well on an iphone screen!

hahahah, you think? All that extreme darkness... I have to say, some of those sequences worked so well on the big screen.

LOL. I don't care whether his argument has any merit.
I'm glad to see that awful corporate-twee-bullshit music recontextualized.

yes, isn't that music horrid. I really hate it.

fredo - yeah, def true. It's pretty scary too, and a cell phone would lose that, although really the sound design scared me more than the visuals. What's a term for the equivalent of a silent film, but instead for a film without very little visual information? Like Jarman's "Blue."

yeah, that trend has really been rubbing me the wrong way. lots of ads doing this for their music...the only other one that springs to mind is the Ditech one. and the Rice Krispies one with Iz, though that one almost made sense. but trying to sound all sweet and cute. it's so embarrassing. how can I ever feel that a giant corporation is cute and cuddly? it makes me feel dirty.

Iggy - OMG HAHAHAHAHAHA

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I wanna have his babies!

i lovehim too so mcuh

I hate his movies, but he has some good things to say. Have you guys never talked to an old person though? I don't think this is anything radically different than what I've heard a million times from my older patients. They were really hating on earbuds and headphones when I was working with them a couple years ago.

it was long, but i watched it in two sittings and kinda really enjoyed it.

the face melting/oversaturation part is one of the most uncomfortable images i've ever seen. i wish he'd do a horror movie.

ds, maybe I just relate to his cantankerousness. Of course it's nothing new!

yeah, assy, same reaction - long but really liked it. I had no idea wtf was going on or why or anything, but it was hypnotic and terrifying all the same.

no, d, I don't think this is old-manish at all! Remember, he's sworn off of film altogether. I don't think you could call Lynch behind the times.
