--> If I had to profess some sort of New Year’s resolution, it would probably be along the lines of ‘be more productive.’ So, apologies for the radio silence over the past couple of months or so; I’ve been pretty much occupied by some festive employment, which has thankfully ended. I’d like to think that from then on I’ll be a little more forthcoming with blog updates and future project information.

But just to let you know I haven’t been completely idle, as apart from the Ed Chamberlain remix, I’ve also been collaborating with the industrious multi-instrumentalist Benet Walsh, whose name you may recognise in electronica circles from his work with Plaid (providing guitar for the tracks Ralome and Eyen, among others). Hopefully we’ll have penned a couple more tracks together, in addition to those we’ve already completed, for release at some point this year.

On the mastering side of business, I’ve been enjoying some rich and varied projects ranging from Gaelic laments to experimental ambient, house and metal - hopefully this will continue through 2008!

Lastly, I've been optimising some designs for some Ochre tee shirts, now available here: link Has anyone tried Zazzle at all for apparel?

That's great news Ochre. I can't wait to hear what you make with Benet Walsh.

I'm still listening the shit out of Lemodie. In terms of composition and song writing, I think you've taken the Plaid premise and expanded it to a level that exceeds anything good ol' Ed and Andy have done. And that's saying A LOT. The mixes are also mastered as well or better than anything else I've ever heard. If that's not enough, I think the song "Lifewish" has the best usage of sampled stringed instruments that I've ever heard.

My only gripe is that the disc doesn't play in most players. Make sure that doesn't happen with the new release!

yeah. a more productive 2008 for everyone.

great news ochre

i love the guitar riff on eyen. been trying to work it out for years!

look forward to hearing the new stuff

Thanks chaps,

Really!!!? I've never had a problem with the disc, but this is pretty alarming. I would have assumed there was some sort of verification process at manufacturing that would ensure utmost compatibility. Hmm. (But thanks for the kind words!)

Yeah Eyen's a great track - Double Figure was the first Plaid CD I bought, and I was hooked on that riff. The stuff we've been writing has a more acoustic feel to it than the Plaid collabs though, I feel. At least so far anyway... I need to pull my socks up and get busy.

i'll drink to that !

it's always great when an Ochre tune comes up when i listen to systrum.

You're living in Newcastle now? When did that happen?

About a year ago - went back to uni. Moved in to a gas-leaking, asbestos-covered victorian house, which has needed lots of TLC, DIY and other acronyms. I haven't been half as busy with the music because of this, but it's another project I enjoy tackling.

Thanks for the tip - tuning it now... sounds like a very cool station.

I hear that!

Good luck with the projects, Chris

If you make the same resolution next year, will it be to be more reproductive in 2009?

my 2008 is gonna be pretty reproductive....

heh-heh-heh
