Broken PC leads to interesting things

So it happens about once a month or so on this site - someones drive fails, or their house floods, or their studio is hit by a meteor, or something to that extent. With me, it so happens that my windows drive has had a corrupted system file for the past 3 months or so and I haven't been motivated to try and rescue it yet.
In the meantime though, perhaps out of habit or maybe just boredom, I started playing around with more lo-fi recording methods, something i've been intending to do for a while now. My PC crapping out just forced me reluctantly into it, looking back, it's been pretty beneficial if only to get me started thinking in that mindset.
After tinkering around with some cassettes, an acoustic guitar, and a microphone, I managed to crank out a song which is quite pleasantly different from anything else I've ever done before and it's caused me to kind of rethink my approach to how I write music. I'm considering taking my music in this direction somewhat, or perhaps forking into a new project, just to explore this creative avenue.
While it's not directly electronic, I thought you might be interested in hearing the fruits of my labor. It just kind of goes to show that limitation really can breed creativity. Not that I plan on ditching my equipment anytime soon, but maybe leaving it off for a bit.
