Before you continue to read, please please please know that the purpose of this post is not to create drama. The veterans can back me up on that. I'm posting this because, well, it really blew me away. Maybe it isn't news to you guys, but maybe it is...
Atum was not amused by my previous blog entry, and my account was restricted from posting for a few hours. I was flabbergasted, and immediately consulted the EM411 rules to figure out where my blog had gone wrong. Unfortunately, the rules yielded no answer: "When commenting, if you have nothing positive, constructive or useful to say, don't say it. Your post will be deleted and you will eventually be restricted from posting." Does the same go for blogs? We can't say anything that isn't unicorn shit and candy canes? That seems off.
Enforcement of the rules is one thing, but this is something else. Aside from an obviously gross and biased overreaction, it seems fucked up that the rule-enforcer punishes me for allegedly flaming, then flames me quite nastily in the warning message. Nothing I've ever posted on this website could hold a candle to that sneering affront.
I realize re-posting the warning message could seal the fate of my account. I'm getting the distinct impression that this community may no longer be ruled as it was in years past. Perma-ban isn't what I want...I feel disappointed more than anything else.

In conclusion: For a second, it was tempting to fill in the huge gaps regarding my history of active participation at EM411, and ten-year professional career in web development and analytics. But, whatever. Less drama.

I'm never going to live that night down. I WAS SO DRUNK. Although, I've won a lot of filter sweep contests in my life. Consider I initiate them with everyone I come in contact with, that's a lot of victories.

perhaps autm was trying to point out that instead of coming back and starting a blog 'Does this place still suck or what?',maybe you should have actually read the site and made your mind up yourself,just like if you had actually tried to comment you would have realized you were not infact banned at all.
your blog back came off totally arogant,negative and very lazy.i've bee reading this site since around 2002 and although i would have to admit there was a 'golden time' very early on and that it did get preaty useless at a time,i can assure you it is now back to being a very usefull and friendly site.
however it is not my place to assure you of anything,if you dont like it then i would advise just not to come here,or at least refrain from writing pointless negative posts that only serve to clutter the site in a hypocritical manner.

LOL. The blog went right over your head. It was maybe 10% serious (40% self-irony, 50% silly sarcasm).
I must say, though, that people didn't freak out so much or automatically assume cruel intentions during the so-called "golden times". /shrug
