I've spent the last three months with only one leg while I recover from the break Roshi described here:

I wanted to let you all know that I'm through the worst of it and should be walking (with assistance) within the next two or three weeks! This horrible experience is almost behind me! I'm finally putting some weight on the bum leg, and so far it's holding up well. X-rays show some, although not much, growth around the fractures; however nothing encourages healing like use.
I'll be using a crutch or cane for a few months, as it will take as long as another year for it to heal completely. That's cool, I like canes. Maybe I could get one with a skull for a handle.
Anyway, just wanted to share the good news! Thanks everyone for all of your thoughts / jokes / insults etc. during this hellish thing!

One time I saw a little yellow finch in a pet shop that had only one foot. He still had his leg and everything...just the foot was gone. He had to sit IN the food dish just to eat. He was so cheery and playfu, though. I totally almost cried. Poor little cute cripple.

i have an old cane of my great-grandfathers that is totally awesome, you should check 2nd hand stores. it's all carved and ornate and bling.
walking in the winter is overrated anyway. ;)
