--> I recently threw caution to the wind and decided to start asking fairly well known artists if they'd like to be interviewed for the Toronto-centric blog I contribute to. For the most part, I send out emails to artist contacts and then I hear nothing in reply.

But that's starting to change, because in 24 hours I'll be chatting up jazz guitar monster Charlie Hunter. If you're as yet unfamiliar with his mind-boggling prowess on the 7 & 8-string bass/guitar hybrids he's known for playing, check out his playing on youtube: link

anyway, i think i'll manage alright, although i get a little queasy when i think about it.

hope i can come up with something more intelligent to ask than "so, how do you do that thing where you play the two things at once & such?"

killer! congrats - he's a monster. i've met him before and he's a sweetheart, so don't sweat the interview too much. just relax and be yourself.

here's a question: how come when it plays it sounds like jazz?

oh, i got better one..
"why dont u just play the piano, probably alot easier"

he essentially discovered norah jones. might be a good topic of discussion.

OH i got a real one "home come all jaz gitar doods sit down when they play? leaky prostate?"

home come? lol how come.. love the no edit

or how come jdg hasn't installed the Google toolbar with the spell check built into it?!?!

that always killed me about jazz gtr d00ds, especially when i was studying to be one -> "but i don't wanna sit down!"

but with him, he's doing so much i think he's actually in genuine danger of falling down if he tried to think about standing upright at the same time.

fripp sits down. heeznot jazz.

i rest my leaky prostate defense

i could patch that leak with a blast of searing hot resin

who wouldn't want a blast of searing hot resin? oh well ...

just got off the phone with Charlie - nice guy - i mentioned the disposable heroes record to find out he doesn't even have a copy of it.

nice guy though, very happy & good natured - got him laughing a couple of times - i'm going to try to make his show.

anyway, i'll post a link when i'm done with the article if anyone's interested.
