whilst playing a gig in town last night my friend got felt up.
twice.
i am fucked off. she didn't tell me until we left the venue cos she knew
i would have stamped on his head. she was dancing to my set minding her own business and he felt her up then came back for more.
today i keep getting angry about it.
i have resolved not to play in stupid bars full of stupid people.
i am also backing out of a gig that is sponsered by a rum company that
are twats.
link
i spoke to the promotor and he said they were the best of a bad bunch.
yeah right.
what is it with people?

I've been felt up before, by some idiot old japanese perv at the train station, it wasn't pleasant. Your girlfriend has my sympathies, quip. I'm with djugel, society is screwed in developed nations. It'd be like the fall of Rome, except that in Rome they slid into debauchery and excess, whereas now that kind of shit is reserved for a lucky few. it shows how far we've come

It shows your girlfriend trusts you to support her > idiots like that can be anywhere - its no reason to give up on doing gigs or having your girlfriend with you - i don't believe many people are like that though
Its natural to feel angry - to want to hurt him
But it would only get you into more pain - the right thing is to either have him thrown out by the security - or if it is serious enough to seek a charge of assault via the police
thinking of you B

That sucks man - it's kinda one reason why my girl doesn't really come to my gigs. That and she doesn't like my music. But don't let it get you down too much, just be picky about where you play.

Sorry to hear about that. I know your rage. My girl was mugged once, dragged across a parking lot by the strap of her purse.
I'm lucky that she l hasn't been through that at any shows. There are a few DJs who hit on her from time to time, but they know better than to push it.

annoying behaviour gets to me worse when I cant detect a reason for people to act like they do.
I honestly cant understand public behaviour sometimes - more so in cities than villages.
is it carelesness on their part? sheep-logic? because they know they can get away with it?

nathan barley is genius.
i hate 95% of the people in the world, i figure. but that 5% is pure gold.
i've had that happen to me, i usually elbow them hard or step on their the foot and grind. i have even been known to take a swing, but only if drunk. whatever, they'll end up lonely.

that sucks big time. i feel for your girlfriend. can't imagine how it must be being a woman, because shit like that seems to be quite normal. as fnortnr said, if i were, i'd just given him an elbow or something like that. because if „the man/boyfriend“ takes action in these kind of situations, it lowers the respect against women even more, because they need a man, to help her out. that would make me even feel more helpless (if i were a woman)
i better shut up, and step down from my little soapbox, telling women, what I think might be the best solution for reacting. smashing the guys head with a glass of beer might be good one though.
and hell yes, the world is a pretty fucked up place.

hmmm...no good quip - sorry to hear that dude that sort of shit makes me mad too. recently my bird was harassed by some dude when out with her mates. eventually the chap knocked her over when she was carrying a full tray of drinks - cut her hand and grazed her knee. she was most upset and i was angry as hell when she told me the next day. at least she went mental and got him chucked out but all things considered, it's probably a good thing i was not around.
Also, good on you sir for caring who sponsors your gigs. that is the sort of thing i do, and people think i am mad for doing it...! hehe.
One thing arising from this blog that does worry me is how down on the world / society people seem to be. I don't see it like that at all. I think the percentage of 'bad people' is really very small. I think the percentage of scared people is far too high. Some of what has been said reminds me of my (EX daily express reading) grandma. I wonder how much of it is born out of first hand experience and how much out of fears, prejudices and media influence...? also, as has been touched upon, alcohol fueled bars are not a great reflection of society. I know a very caring person who would go to almost any lengths to help people and to avoid hurting them (ME) who, after a few chimay, sometimes becomes an aggressive handful (ALSO ME)...don't get me wrong, i aint the sort to start a fight for no reason, or touch up girls for that matter BUT you get my point...
I have great faith in society and I think it is part of the problem to think it is all broken...hmmm. Did i go on a bit there? Sorry

agreed that you shouldn't stop gigging, or taking your missus with you...that would be a great loss.

My missus got felt up twice at one of MY gigs, so I sypathise entirely with both of you.
The guy who did it tried to sell me weed from a GIANT goodie bag (filled with pot, e's, coke, smack, bit of everything) down our local pub one night and thanks to a well placed phone call he got hauled off to the police station with about £5ks worth of drugs in his possession. How I lolled.
