Anyone catch the news?
St. louis got hit with the worst storm in state history. winds were clocked at over 90mph.
I witnesses the transformer by my apartment explode. It was very pretty shades of blue purple and green. And the sound, I'll tell you what if I could have recorded it I would of because I had bnever heard a sound like that before.
So anyway. over 400,000 of my fellow st. louisans are out of power.
I witness a fist fight at a gas station over bagged ice. Then nearly got into one myself.
36 hours later my power came back on. YESSS!!!
most of the city however is not so lucky.
My heart is with them tonight. the heat index topped 120 today, so it can only get worse. It's been delcared a state of emergency. The national gaurd is coming in.
Funny thingis, the storm only lasted about half an hour.
That waether making machine they have at the pentagon works really well doesn't it?

my hood got hit with like 3 hurricanes in a row a while back and i was without power for a whole week. it was hot and humid as hell. my apt building slowly devolved into competing tribes squatting around hibatchi grills. a guy in building 6 had previous issues with a guy in my circle and they attacked us in the middle of the night on day 6, taking our women and beer (the previous beef was about a girl, the beer was collateral damage). we were on the verge on planning a counter attack, face paint, war signs... then all of the sudden, the power came back on. we all went back inside our apartments, took showers, turned on the news, and never spoke about it again. this is 100% true story. electricity keeps us civil.
Anybody see that "Tom Goes to the Mayor" episode? !!!!!!ZYNXXX RULES!!!
Heard about that outage (though not via the news, via one of my pals who's STL native).
