We live on the 9th floor and have a balcony. Pigeons are a bit of a problem. They shit all over everything, basically. The other day I went out to see a pigeon had made a nest in the dog's (unused) litter tray. The nest had an egg in. I put the lot in a bag and threw it in the bin. I felt a bit bad but don't want to risk having diseased animals living practically in my house.
Yesterday we bought a drum kit off ebay. It was a bargain: full kit with ride and 2 cymbals for £100. The kid i bought it off said he couldn't practice it without the neighbours complaining. The kid's only about 11 or 12. When i finished loading it into the car he said
"do you want these drum sticks too?"
"Won't you need them?" I asked, thinking he'd still be playing drums at school or something.
"No, I'm not going to play drums anymore."
I took the sticks. I felt bad cos he might never get into music now. He might not play another instrument again in his whole life. Did i get a bargain at the expense of his creative life?

i should apologize, i hate it when i get very upset over nothing. its just everyone time i read something stupid then goto the persons em and their music sucks it just makes me go crazy mad. when i think of whats going through the head of someone who can't make music when they attack me, i go insane

I was raised italian atheist and an egg is an egg.
As for the kid, I don't think you can shut up his creativity buying his drums, someone else would have bought them. I mean it's not you that stopped him from playing drums. He'll find something else to express his creativity, or he will pick up drums again when older.

i feel your pain. i tried to move a bird's nest so they would stop crapping all over the front doorstep (our house was for sale at the time too, so crap on doorstep = not good.) one of the little birdies fell out and smacked his head on the concrete. i felt really bad. the end.
