--> Mild irritation of the day.

Why do dumbshit corporate people say "lets talk offline" instead of "lets talk later"?

Why do dumbshit corporate people say "legacy products" instead of "old products"?

Why do dumbshit corporate people say "I'm out of cycles" instead of "I'm out of time"?

What is some of your favorite / most hated corp-speak?

this kind of gurgling sound?"

that'd do it lol!

lol joebacca

I love that everyone else spits fire at this crap just like I do

wow. makes working in academia seem almost too easy.

My favorite:
We'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

I work in corporate healthcare. Other misappropriations that drive me nuts:
Issue = problem
Endorse= pass the buck to the next shift.
Problems= opportunities/challenges

And my other favorite is when we have a meeting to talk about when we are going to have all the other meetings.
People wonder why the work isnt getting done.

Also in general how people can't come out and say the truth and must spin a long story for 45 minutes dancing all around the problem at hand.

that is disgusting.

oh how about this one ....

"Please finish this big ball of wax and revert back to me for further instruction"

ptah ..... i don't want to revert anything ... goddammit .... speak ingrish.

What's that old definition? Meeting: Where the minutes are saved and hours are lost.
my new favorite, fresh out of the corporate meeting "lets go after some of the low hanging fruit, and see what we can accomplish".

I love / hate any and all borrowings of war and / or sports terminology.

"Lets knock it out of the park."
"That's one for the win column" (ARGH)
"Carry / Drop / Pass the ball"
"Go in for the kill" (ARGH)

jogn - "revert back to me"? Hm. Well, if we're going to start deconstructing grammar in business-speak, then we have to start with "verbed nouns":
impacting
productizing (WTF)
actioning
accessing

it goes on...

As Calvin classically said, verbing weirds language.

"low-hanging-fruit" has always made dirty. I don't want anyone at work plucking my low-hanging-fruit!

lolz "made dirty"

"made me feel dirty" obviously

my low hanging fruit makes dirty fairly often.
