Been in Berlin for a few months now (it's great) but am desperate for work. Can any of the Berliners here help?! I'm an unqualified simpleton that can do bar/cafe work or move heavy stuff and hit things. However I can also do illustration/design work and have experience working in a youth club and with people with learning difficulties (all of which is probably totally irrelevent since my German is still quite basic).

Any help or advice would be great.

i'm not in berlin, hence i'd suggest the usual:
learn german (volkshochschulkurse?), get newspapers, get out and ask at places in person and
maybe you can become a english teacher for pupils (nachhilfelehrer)

best of luck dude!

something about a german youth club makes me feel uneasy

Good luck mate. I've heard unemployment in Berlin's as high as 20% so you might be hard pressed...
Maybe advertise yourself as a private tutor for English? Giving our fliers is usually cash in hand?

er, Wash people's windscreens when they stop at the traffic lights?

hmmm....

There are lots of English schools in Berlin but as far as I am aware you need to be TEFL registered to get a job there.
Maybe check this site out link

well let me say, i approve of the new name...

Looks like I may have to intensively undertake a 10 day tefl course for 200 bucks and then be an english teacher.

Thankyou adc my fellow bicicularly named friend.
