I remember them doing this at ATP back in december [thx again samski for that weekend!] and it sounded good from what I recall.

woah - someone posted a video of it: link

sounds pretty mental and intense. mental is my word of the month. anyway- the vid is rocking...

that live performance starts off sounding one way, kinda muddy, and then suddenly gets the addition of some other sound that's much clearer and detailed. Any chance they added a recording to it?

I really enjoyed this song as well, btw. Quite inspiring. Much better, imo, than their first album's material which was too fashiony for my taste.

"fashiony"

it was beloved of hipsters the world over, which I suppose included me at the time. I always found their stuff very personal and somewhat painful, however, even at the outset.

pretty pish imo.

the last bit with the strings was 100% more interesting than the rest of it.

Here's the ATP set:
Portishead at ATP 2007-12-08

01) Wicca
02) Hunter
03) Mysterons
04) Mystic
05) Glory Box

07) Wandering Star
08) Machine Gun
09) Over
10) Sour times
11) Only You
12) Cowboys
--
13) Roads
14) Peaches

what does 'pish' mean? really.
pish = scots for piss = urine

its pretty gothic

great now i'm late for work

thanks for posting the song

thx for posting this

its interesting. i want to hear the rest of the album. i read an interview and they were going on about how long it took to make
a portishead record. years literally. so the album better be good.

They were great at ATP in December.
The new songs were ace live, but I can imagine Wicca, Hunter and Mystic will sound better on record than the Machine Gun single does.
Machine Gun seemed better live.

Looking forward to the album

album is crazy..

lo-fi electronic 70's spy music ranging from dark to harsh..

not the portishead i knew but damn happy to have them back..

I love it!

80'-90s echoes of suzi, dead can dance, bjork, etc...

Hot! <3
