--> this little thing is amazing. it uses some sort of convolution to mimic the sound of all the great eq and compressors. and i mean nearly every little thing.
as far, as i heard, it sounds amazing.
and it only costs only a fractin of one original piece. it's like 800$.
i'm really thinking about getting this machine.
it's called focusrite liquid-mix.

i really like the idea.
and it's at least par with a smal uad card. price-wise.

I heard somewhere that it's mathematically impossible to reproduce everything via convolution and impulse response, but sadly, I dont know more. This comes up a lot in relation to guitar amp simulation, where things like Amplitube and NI Guiar Rig (i think) tried with convolution methods and only got a rough approximation of the sound.
