Hi Everyone!
Some of you may remember a pet project of mine I started a while back, but never saw through. I've been working on a fresh version of "Remix Our Band" for the last couple months. I'm really excited about it, and I just wanted to put the word out a bit since I'm hoping to launch the site in early May. 
What the hell is it?
The idea is to make a place where bands can connect with remixers and vice versa. I'm working out the exact functionality, but the idea is to provide a place where you can come, put up some examples of remixes you've done, and check out songs by bands who want to have remixes done, and then make contact and do it!

I'm really excited about this, and I'm rounding up a nice group of bands and remixers to kick things off right now!
I've got a pretty good idea how this thing is going to function, but I'm not totally done building it yet, so please share your ideas for how you think a community like this should operate! Obviously I'm taking cues from my favorite communities like em411, vimeo, and yayhooray, but I'd love to hear more ideas.

@yghartsyrt - i have to give credit where it is due! those were just thrown in so i could have some placeholder avatars, the bottom two are the work of folks on yayhooray: link
i really like the 16x16 pixel avatar format of yay, but part of me thinks maybe it makes more sense to bump it up a bit in size. i was thinking of giving users the option to provide their flickr usernames so I could grab the avatar they'd set there with the api. not sure!

I tought you buried the project a while ago, so it's good to see brought it back to life.
that gravatar thing looks intersting, as does the screenshot (a little pale/light perhaps)

ideally i'd find something everyone uses already that i could tap into, but i'm not sure what that would be. oh man maybe instant messenger has an api? or oh gmail. hmm.
@bodo - the project def was on hold for several months, but i was always keeping it in mind. it wasn't until even just a few months ago that i felt like i finally had the knowhow to build the thing the way i wanted to in php - before that i was experimenting with all sorts of bloated content management systems and nothing worked out to be flexible in the way i wanted it to be.
anyway, thanks all! i'm excited to get this thing off the ground so I have something else to obsessively refresh throughout the day. ;-)

Sounds like a great idea.
I'll admit I don't love the colours in that screenshot, but my interest in the content would easily override that.
