--> so my post about the rave piano sounds seemed to get some people quite excited. i have always been so interested in the 80s/90s rave culture we had over here in the UK. admittedly i was born in 84, so was too young for the summer of love in 89. however, i have a much older brother, who was right in the thick of it, and at the time was someone i looked up to very much. anyway, i can't really remember much apart from the music and the clothes, but i found a really cool documentary on youtube about the summer of 89. its very entertaining and shows, in my opinion a really cool part of history that the youth should be proud of!

lets just say we're different people. he'll always be my bro, but we don't ever really see each other.

the scene is ok, still fun, its just full of psy trance and dreadlocks and drum circles though. ;)

my first party was in '96 so i caught the end of the "old skool days". around here it was raves in barns, roller rinks, fairgrounds and gymnasiums///

GOOD times!!! *sigh*

the stone ponies and the happy mondays suck. I'm sorry.
but I really like acid house.

has anyone heard glowstix? they're on Cock Rock Disco. I like them because they pretty much took the stuff I liked about 90's rave music and little of the stuff I don't like.
you should check out 'Mistabishi'

just got signed to hospital records, has a track called 'no matter what' with lots of lovely rave parts. i love it.

I remember getting on a central line tube at bethnal green one sunday morning back in 1987 tripping my face off, after partying in a warehouse for hours. All these proper old school city guys in bowler hats and pin strip suits, didnt bat an eyelid at me even though I had dirt all up the legs of my jeans, was all grimey from sweating it up loads and big black holes for eyes.

daamn, I feel OLD. not as old as Zanf... but not far behind him either! ;)
