yeah i'm not a fan of the fact that they're making people pay to do this, seems cheap. it's also not a contest - they just said they'd listen to 'the best ones' - kind of doubly lame imho. they're making people pay for the chance to be heard by them. pretty self-absorbed. yeah i actually try not to think about it, because i'm really deeply disappointed by this remix marketing rubbish.
i'm not a fan of the constant posting of these things on em411 from people who barely ever post... seems like spam to me.
i agree em978, it would be bad form / lame if people signed up just to pimp their remix and leave, but has anyone done this?

i voted. although it's a reminder that i'm still too lazy to start working on a remix too.... I do like your remix. It is a shame to me that you have no ownership over it whatsoever.
I must confess that I have strayed away from EM411 as far as blogging/posting goes. Raising another human being takes your energy away more than consuming alcohol/drugs. Who'da thunk?
And yes, Radiohead has confused me by not only charging for the stems for the remix, but also for working with iTunes in distributing the stems. Wasn't the reason they self-released 'In Rainbows' was to stick it to iTunes??? I try not to go through them for music. Then again, I'm not so much an elitist as I'm without $$$. The worst thing about paying for the stems was that I had to sign up to the itunes store. I had no plans to ever buy anything from itunes.
And like Gejius said why is Radiohead of all bands even dealing with itunes? What's next, a Gap commercial? oh wow. this is really an improvement over the original. your timbres are so on point!...says the raging radiohead fan.
