btw only played an hour or two so far but this game is unbelievably great
this overheated reaction is the same as the Parent's Television Council insisting that churches tell their kids to stop watching Lost or Supernatural because they "advocate" the occult. Doesn't bother me in the slightest, someone will always be offended by something because someone else told them that they should be.

i'm not a video game person, but just from watching my bandmate play (lol, lame I know - I actually enjoy it more in some ways I think) I can tell GTA is a well made game. All this shit disappoints me though - they're just pushing this stupid aspect of an already over-the-top-violent game because they know it'll sell copies. Capitalizing on violence and misogyny is pretty low in my book, and they're doing exactly that. I know we're supposed to take it as satire, but look at the motivation: to sell games. Good satire in my book has something to say, not something to sell.

got GTA IV the other day. its a truly breathtaking game, a real work of art. rockstar have finally pulled off what they have been trying to do for years, make an immersive story that can truly compete with film.
the reviews are currently averaging at 100% too, amazing! in this case, do believe the hype!
