Sorry if you've seen this already ...
But I thought everyone should see this. Who's Rev. Wright again?

is so far as the babyboomers go i tend to think that this specific generation produced the worst national leaders this country has suffered since the late 19th century. All the real talent of that demographic went into business and technology, leaving the weakest links for politics. Barack worries me due to his protectionist talks about NAFTA, and generally he comes off as lightweight in many senses especially in matters of security.

mccain... wow. I'm with you, flies, on Obama and Clinton, but McCain really seems like a cranky, doddering old man with no real voice of his own, only a slight old-fashioned charm factor going for him. I would be super depressed if he got into office.

I doubt mccain can do this job in his age i really do. also he has a real reputation for being vindictive and quick to anger, the last type of person you need right now. on the other hand he is more sensible about immigration.

i've always thought of him as a "good" republican. he's tough on campaign finance reform, has a no torture policy as in no water boarding etc., and deep down inside i think he's still really pissed at Bush for the 2000 primary dirty politics. it was amazing to me ho when got behind Bush though. i expected him to be a bit more of a rogue.. but i guess he was planning on running in 2008 so didn't want to step outside the party too much.. though lot's of republicans hate him and earlier in the primary they all came out against him and pushed romney because romney was going hardcore for the reagan thing.
long story short.. i think there's no telling what the guy would do if he ended up in the whitehouse. let's hope we don't have to find out.

exactly. I totally had the same feeling for mccain. But he has proved himself to be a total whore. And the guy's speeches are the ultimate in depressing punishment sessions.

ugh, "proved himself to be a total whore" is a gross exaggeration.

obama's sterngth seems to be speeches (a few of my friends have been moved by some of his words) . Any well worded attempt at diplomacy might be welcome with open arms after the "with us or against us" crap everyone's been hearing so long.
Although the rest of the world might have as hard a time swallowing that this place is any different as I do. Different sock puppet, same hands up it's ass. I think that the current terror politics will continue to threaten us into complacency as the faith in any type of political change erodes around us. Those here before us trusted in the american way of life. those after us will trust that they will be kept in line by the fear of going against the way of life.
sorry for the semi off topic rant. I've been reading alot about revolutions. I feel this place is headed that way...so the government has slowly shifted from a policy of voicing the concerns of the public to quieting voices speaking the concerns of the public.
