Bjork. I find her melodies lacking most of the time, and her vocal emoting way over the top and indulgent. It bugs me. That said, I just saw a dvd of her performing live and enjoyed it. I think I finally saw what everyone's going on about her. She is a very skillful singer and puts herself whole-heartedly into her music in a really pure way. But I still don't really enjoy her music.

ugh, suddenly I feel so guilty. In my opinion it's wrong to put any music down, because as you get older and your taste changes suddenly something you totally detested is beautiful.

to follow fredo, pink floyd was one that took me many tries to 'get'. I think i had to wait until adolescent, heroic tendencies subsided in order to finally embrace it.
i think one of the appeals of electronic music in general is that it privlieges 'the experiment', which in turn allows a lot of noise and dross to flow casually under the eye of musical scrutiny.
